He bore the sins of the world, past present, and future, to pay our debt and restore us to the eternal sonship. By the Lord Jesus&#8217; Christ\u2019s death, he trampled death, and opened the doors of paradise to us once again. This event is recorded in all four Gospels.<\/p>\n<p>A hymn in contemplation to this event said: &#8220;Today is hung upon the Tree, He Who hung the earth upon the waters. A crown of thorns crowns Him Who is King of Angels. He is wrapped about with purple of mockery Who wrapped the Heavens with clouds. He received buffetings Who received Adam in the Jordan. He was transfixed with nails Who is the Bridegroom of the Church. He was pierced with a spear Who is the Son of the Virgin.
