General Services


Bethlehem

Overview

Prior to Liturgical Services, a deacon comes in early to prepare the Holy Offering while praying the Psalms.

Service occurs for weekday & weekend liturgies starting around 5am.

Salt & Light

Overview

Monthly, on the 1st Thursday of every month, the service gathers in church for prayer and then goes to the Houston Downtown Library to serve the Needy warm food and provide them with different needs.

There are many ways to participate. You may do all or any of the following:

  • Role 1: Come & Volunteer (no sign up)
  • Role 2: Come & Pack (Tuesday @ 8:30pm – no sign up)
  • Role 3: Cook (Thursday @ 2pmsign up here)
  • Role 4: Purchase items (Here)

Supplies & Inventory

Overview

Maintain inventory of all Sunday School related services.

Track inventory, organizing stationaries, maintaining check-in & Check-out, delivering supplies to classes & buy necessary supplies.

Serve in all or any of the 4 roles by signing up here.

  • Role 1:  Place orders/purchases of supplies.
  • Role 2:  manage check-in & check-out of supplies
  • Role 3:  maintain inventory tracking system.
  • Role 4:  Organize & maintain cabinets.


Cooking

Overview

Offer your cooking skills for different services. Cooks may be needed for:

  • Sunday Fellowship Meals
  • Salt & Light
  • Sunday School Activities
  • Camps
  • Midweek Visitors

Cleaning

Overview

The Committee is responsible to keep Sunday School Building clean and ready for Sunday’s activities.

Generally,  the committee forms groups of 4 (or more) members to come any time between Monday to Saturday to do the cleaning service. Each member spends about 2 hours in service every 6 weeks.

Maintenance

Overview

The Committee is responsible to maintain Sunday School Building issues and provide manual effort to maintain or equip the building.

  • Change High ceiling lightbulbs.
  • Change HVAC filters.
  • Transform Gym to Hall when needed.
  • Prep church for weddings.
  • Yard Equipment Maintenance.


Arts & Crafts

Overview

Creating Arts & Crafts or Decorate for the Events; Fall Fest, Houston Wide Christmas Camp, Palm Sunday Activity Day, St. Mark Festival, Summer Camps & any others

Join Choir for different church Events. Celebrations, New Year’s Eve, and more.

Theatric

Overview

Participate & Lead large and small theatric services.

Large services include Saint/Story based plays.

Small services prepare skits & puppets shows for elementary services.

IT

Overview

The team help maintain all technological services of the church including, excel sheets, website, IT-related apps, maintain Cloud storage, maintain TV connections, projectors & Sunday School, etc…

  • Role 1:  Maintains excel sheets (google sheets) for tracking elementary rewards (Class dojo)
  • Role 2:  Updates the Sunday school website
  • Role 3:  Maintains & creates excel sheets for sunday school
  • Role 4:  Creates registration forms on Breeze
  • Role 5:  Helps/trains servants on current applications (google drive, google forms, chromecast,  etc)
  • Role 6:  Create E-learning sessions on google forms


Videography & Photography

Overview

Committee shoot and prepare videos, take and edit the videos during various church events as well as create various digital design ads/posters for various events.

Overview

Overview

Maintain, update, create and improve all educative material given to youth.

Youth Services [PK – 12]


Sunday School

Overview

Sunday School is a weekly service that teaches the main aspects of Christianity to the Youth. Servants build relationships with them in mentorship inspired by the Shepherding of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Service are Sunday’s from 12PM to 1PM. You may see the Calendar of SS Services here.

To join the service, please contact Fr. Polycarpus directly and fill the form below. You will be directed to a Rotations programs to introduce you to the service & the servants.

For those who have not followed a pre-servant class in the past and would like to join the service, you may register to the pre-servants class, a pre-requisite for service.

Pre-Servants

The Pre-servant class is a course that covers Scripture, Dogma, Comparative Theology, Patristics, Rituals, Service & Spirituality and History of the Church, as well as aims to equip the student with a dedicated love for Christ through outreach services, biblical readings & retreats.

Services are offered Saturday from 6PM to 7PM.


Bible Academy

Overview

A Weekly Bible School Program for Kids from G2-G5 that develops a daily reading biblical culture in students as well as guides them on how to read the Bible.

Services are help weekly on Saturdays at 4PM.

Overview

A Weekly Service that helps student learn and recite hymns as well as actively participating regularly in Vespers.

Services are held weekly on Saturday at 5PM.

Overview

SS Elementary Events in charge of planning and executing spiritual and exciting events like:

  • Fall Fest, Houston Wide Christmas Camp, Palm Sunday Activity Day, Easter Sunday Egg Hunt, St. Mark Festival, Summer Camp, as well as any other SS event.

A Monthly Service every 3rd Tuesday at 10am serving the seniors of the church.
